Question:

How can I crop a map in FreeHand?

Answer:

To crop a map using FreeHand, you can use the Paste Inside command.

After you use the Paste Inside command, you will no longer be able to edit the map features. Make all your changes to the map features and use the Paste Inside once all your map edits are complete.

1) Using the Layers Palette Options pull down menu, choose "New" to create a new layer. Make sure your new layer is on top of all the other layers.

2) On this new layer, create a polygon (using the Rectangle or Polygon Tools) that covers the portion of the map you want to use.

3) Click the padlock icon to the left of the new layer name to temporarily lock the layer. Choose menu option Edit > Select > All, then Edit > Cut.

4) Click again on the padlock next to your new layer name to unlock it and select the polygon.

5) Choose menu option Edit > Paste Inside.
