Question:

When I increase the point size of text in FreeHand, the characters get bigger but the text box doesn't grow. How do I increase the point size and have it display properly?

Answer:

Before changing the point size, you must first turn on the "auto-expansion" preference for the text boxes of the selected text.

To Activate Auto-Expansion on Text Boxes:

1) Select the text object(s) you want to modify.

2) Choose menu option Window > Object to view the Object Palette.

3) Click on the Horizontal Auto-Expansion button. You can now increase the text point size and the text box will expand to the new size.
