Making a Sphere Look Flat. Or, Why All Map Projections Fail in Some Way

For a great demonstration of the problems of flat-map projections, check out this video from Vox.  By cutting up a plastic globe, explaining some cartographic history, and pointing out a few details about continent size and shape, Johnny Harris provides a fantastic understanding of the limitations of map projections.
